Horse stock were without alteration in values. — Ad Eemnera, on Thursday, dairy cattle were plentiful, and without alteration in values. Best animals brought from £9 to £11 ; inferior, from £4 ss. each. Calves and yearlings were in short supply and better worth : they bronght from 40s. to 505. ; well-bred eighteen-month-old steers, £4 55. ; two-year-olds, £5 10s. each. Fat cattle offered in moderate numbers ; seventy-seven head penned. They were of larger size than usual. Bidding was dull, and prices realised were from 225. to 255. the 100 lbs. Fat sheep were in less numbers than usnal.and prices advanced, the average of the market being fully 4d. the lb. Half-bred wethers realised from 14s. to 225. ; merinoes, 12s. 6d. and 13s. 6d. each ; store long-woolled lambs, 7s. 6d. ; long-woolled ewes, 235. each. Pigs were in request at advanced prices ; they brought fully sid. the lb. Messrs. Hunter and Nolan report that the number of horses offered wera scarcely np to the average and sales were somewhat difficult to effect, and several were withdrawn for higher rates, bat we could have placed a few more of a better description. Cattle : There was a very short muster of all descriptions with but little alteration in value. The dairy cows as a rule were coarse, ill-bred animals, and consequently dull of sale, but really good cows at their profit are in demand. There is an nnsatisSed inquiry for well-bred store cattle, but holders are unwilling to sell at current rates, expecting an advance in the spring, while graziers anticipate an easier market. Stocks of fat beasts ara short, but prices have made no marked upward tendency. Sheep : There has been great animation in the market, and prices advanced from Is. to 2s. per head. No scores were penned, but are in request : best quality sold from 18s. 6d. to 265. 3d. ,- second quality from 13s. to 15s. each. Pigs : Saleable at full rates.
