ELECTION NOTICE. ELECTORAL DISTRICT OP TOWN OF NEW PLYMOUTH. IN pursuance of the "Regulation of Elections Act, 1870," I, Harry Eyre Kenny, Returning- Officer for the Electoral District of the Town of New Plymouth, do hereby give notice that by virtue of a Writ beariug date the 28th day of July, 1871, under the public seal of the Province of Taranaki, an election will be held for the retnrn of one quali6ed person to serve as member of the Provincial Council of Taranaki for the said electoral district, and that the nomination of candidates will take place at the Taranaki Institute, in the Town of New Plymouth, at noon, on the 14th day of August, 1871, and that the poll (if necessary), will be taken on the 17th day of August, 1871. And I do further notify that the said John Corbett White has given notice in writing at my office of his intention to proceed with his application for Letters Patent for the said Invention, and that I have appointed Friday, the 15th day of December next, at 11 o'clock in the forenoon, at my office, to hear and consider the said application and all objections thereto ; and I do hereby require all persons having an interest in opposing the grant of such Letters Patent to leave, on or before the 11th day of December next, at my office in Wellington particulars in writing of their objections to the said application, otherwise they will be precluded from urging the sanoe.
