Wool and Flax Sale at Auckland. — Mr. Alfred Bucklacd held the first sale of the season at the Haymarket on 18th November, when 318 bales and 33 bags wool, and 546 bales of flax were offered. There was a large attendance. Tho prices realised for wool, in grease, varied from -lid. to GJd. ; washed wools, 81. to ll|d. being from 2|d. to 4d. lower than last year. The flax was sold as follows : — Spargo, 33 bales, £13 10s. ; Mellsop, 21 bales, £12 15s. ; Mellsop, 16 bales, £10 ss. ; Mellsop, 2 bale 3, £22; T. Wilson, 17 bales, £13 155.; Twidlo, 11 bales, £11 ; Fleming and Stephenson, 26 bale 3, £8; W. Runciman, 3 bales, £11 ; Thomson Brothers, 60 bales, £10 ; ex ' Airedale,' 20 bales £10; Joseph Thomson, G bales, £0 ; Ciarke, 20 bales, £13 ; Fleming and Srophenson, J2 ba'es, £9 55. ; James Thomson, 6 bales, £11 sp. ; Twidle, 3 bales tow, 3s. Get. Live Stock Market. — Messrs. Hunter and Nolan report as follows: — "A continued improvement in the horse market. We quote hacks fiom £1 to £9 los. ; useful harness horses from £10 to £18. Cattle supply of all kinds short, and of middling description, buc there was a maiked improvement in values. Dairy cows of inferior breeds sold at from £7 los. to £10 155., with fair competition. Store stock nominal. Fat beasts : The supply unequal to requirements, with a decided improvement in the demand, best sorts obtaining 325. Gd. the 100 lb. The sheep at hand have been readily cleared off, and prices advanced from 2s. to oS. per head for *hosa fit for the butchers. Store sheep'flrm. Lambs were in proportionately butter supply, were well competed for, and also advai.Cfd in prices, selling at from 7"- od. to lls. Gd. Pigs : in adequate supply, bnt dull of sale."
