Six Hauhaus had perished in tho snow, and four more are missing, buliovcd to have perished likewise from exposure. Mukanoi and followers have surrendered, aud the rest of

the Ureweras are hiding in the bush, afraid to come in. The enemy aro suffering greatly from want and cold. The cold is very severe at the Lake, and the frieudlies are unable to stand it.
