FURTHER DESPATCH OF TROOPS TO INDIA.

Lieutenant General Sir J.\F. Love, X.C.8,, K.H., the Inspector -Geneial of Infantry, has made an inspection of the reinforcements belonging to the three battalions of infantry at Chatham garrison, now under orders to embark for India. The corps from -which the reinforcements are selected are the ~" 7th (.Royal Fusiliers) Bth, 10th, lMh, 20th, 23rd, (Royal Welch Fusiliers),24th 29th, 32nd, (Light Infantry), 35th, 43rd, (Light Infantry), 52nd (Light Infancy), 53rd, 61st, 70th, 75th, 81st, 81th, and 94th Regiments, and they are all under orders to embark for India between the 24th and 30th of • June. The men are equipped with the rifled musket, in the use of which they have been instructed. Oiders have been issued for the following reinforcements — giving an aggregate of 5000 men of all lanks — to embark for India, viz., 605 non-com, missioned officers and men of the 7th Dragoon Guards, 7th Royal Fusiliers, 52nd Light Infantry, 70th, 81st, 64th, and 98th regiments, to embark on board the Eastern Monarch, at Gravesend, , for Kurrachee ; 383 men and one officer of the 3rd Dragoon Guards, Bth Hussars, 17th Lancers, 51st Light Infantry, 56th and 57th Regiments, tp embark at Gravesend, on board the Clifton Belle, for Bombay j 404 men and four officers of the 6th Foot, 29th, 38th, and 42nd Royal Highlanders, 64th 77tH and 79th,- Highlanders, 93 Highlanders, and 97th Regiments, to embark on board the Alnwick Castle, at Gravesand, for Calcutta ; 398 men and four officers, selected from the 6th Foot, 23rd" Royal Welsh Fusiliers, 60th Rifles, and 77th Regiments', to embaik on board the Blenheim, at Gravesend, for Calcutta ; 390 men of the 60th Rifles, 73rd 7Wh and the Rifle Brigade, to embark at Portsmouth, on boaid the Victor Emmanuel, for Calcutta j twelve officers and 398 of all ranks of the 6th Dragoon Guards, 13th Light Infantry, 38th, 54th, "75th, 88th Connaught Rangers, the Rifle brigade, and the Royal Artillery, to embark on board the Tyburnia, at Gravesend, for Calcutta j 443 non-com-missioned officers and «nen of the 33rd (Duke of Wellington's), 18th Royal Irish, 57th, 86th, 89th, and 95th Regiments, to embArk at Cork, on' board the Earl Balcarras, for Bombay; 244 men of the Ist Royals, and 44th Regiments, to embark on board the Clarence, at Gravesend, for Madras ; 277 men of the 12th Lancers, 60th Rifles, aha 66th Regiments, to embark at Portsmouth/on board' the Bucephalus, for Madras; 495 men and three officers of the 2nd (the Queen's) Dragoon Guards, 6th Dragoon Guards. 7th Hussars, 9th Lancers, 29th, 35th, 63rd, 00th Rifle's, 64th, 73rd, 82nd, and the Rifle Brigade, to embark on board the Hplmsdale, at Gravesend, for Calcutta ; four officers and 378 men of the Bth Lancers, 9th (the King's) 19th, 20th, 24th, 37th, 90th, Light Infantry, 93rd Highlanders, and the Rifle Brigade, to embark at 'Gravesend, on board flic John Duncan, for Calcutta ; 343 men of the sth Fusiliers, 6th, 34th, and 39tli Regiments, to embark on board the Merchantman, at Gravesend for Calcutta. The whole of the reinforcements are under oiders to embark before the Ist of July. Orders have been issued to Colonel H. Jervis, Colonel R.N. Phillips, and Colonel C.E. FairclougV, commanding the three battalions of infantry at Chatham Garrison, directing them to hold in rea- • diness the following reinforcements, in addition to those previously ordered from the several depots under their command, to embark for India : — 40 non-commissioned officers and men of the 7th Fusiliers, 280 men of all ranks of the 52nd Light Infantry, 72 men of the 70th Regiment, 12 men of the 81st regiment, and 80 men of all ranks of the 94th Regiment, to embark at Gravesend, on hoard the Eastern Monarch, for • Kurrachee, on the 30th June, 4o men of the Bth (the King's) Regiment; 40 men of tho 19th Regiment, 100 non-commiss-ioned officeis and men of the 20th Regiment, and 0"6 men of thg 21th Regiment, to embark atGravesend, on June 26th, on board the John Duncan, for Calcutta ; 38 men of the 29fli Regimen t, 35 men of the 35th (Royal Sussex) Regiment, and 100 men of the 53 i-d Regiment, to embark at Gravesend, on June 26th, in the Holmsdale, for Calcutta ; 230 non-commissioned officeis and men of the 23rd Royal Welsh Fusiliers will embark at Gravesend, on board the Blenheim! and ,100 men of the 75th Regiment on board the Tyburnia, on June 26th, for Calcutta"; giving a. total of 1200 men of all ranks now under orders at Chatham to embark for India. ■ Detachments of the 73rd and 77tii Regiments under the command of Captain Daly, of the latter regiment, have arrived at Portsmouth in her Majesty's steam vessels Sprightly and Pigmy from Jersey, and arc quartered in Cambridge Barracks awaiting embarkation for India.
