Tho Australian Gazette, of the Bth August, reports as follows : — "At the public sales of colonial wool during the week there has been a full attendance of both home and foreign buyers, and the competition for the superior qualities was again exceedingly active, the greater part having been secured for exportation. The prices realised were in all instances fully equal to those previously current, and in some very fine qualities a slight improvement took place. The following were some of the prices realised : — Sydney, clean sheep's, Is. 4Jd. to 2s. 4£d. ; scoured 2s. 4d. i hand-washed, 2s. ljd. ; and grease, Is. 3d. to Is. BJ. New Zealand, clean sheep's, Is. 10£ d. to 2s. Id. ; lambs, Is. 7£d. to Is. lljd. Van Diemen's Land, clean sheep's, 2s. Id. ; and lamb's, 2s. I£. Port Phillip, clean sheep's, Is. lOJd. to 2s. 4id. ; scoured, Is. 7Jd. to Is. B£d. ; lambs, Is. lid. Cape, clean sheep's Is. 2£d. to Is. lid.; handwashed, Is. 7d. to Is. 9id. ; scoured, Js. B£d. to Is. 9£d. . lamb's, Is. 6d. to Is. lljd. ; grease, Is. Id. to Is. 3d. per lb. Buenos Ayres Wool realised Bd. to Is. B£d. per lb.
