To the Editor of the TARANAKI HERALD.
Sir, — In your issue of Saturday last, you make some remarks upon an advertisement which appears in your paper of that day, announcing the sale of certain materials intended for a Jetty. As you have referred to me by name it is only right I should inform you that if you had consulted Mr I. N. Watt the Provincial Secretary, or if he had given you the information which he had in his possession, you would have had no occasion to have laboured to throw the responsibility of the remarks contained in the advertisement of the sale of those ill-fated materials on me, as he knew prior to those remarks of yours being written that I had nothing to do with the ndvertisement nor did I know who was to sell the materials until he himself informed me of it. F. U. Glddhill.
