Tho following Circular has been addressed to the Members ol tho General Assembly in tho Province. There i« a rumour or report current that it ha« boon subsequently nrranged that the steamer " Nelson i» to call for the Members. Colonial Secrctary't Office, Auckland, 18th April, 1854. Sir, I havn tho honour by direction of His Excellency thn Officer administering the Govern* ment to uiform you that "tho Brtg "Mountain Mnid,' : J. J. Peacock, M»«tcr, has been chartered alWiHington by Government to convey yourself and the other Members of the General Assembly at New Plymouth to Auckland, for the purpose of enabling you to attend the sitting of that llouso convened on the 21th of May noxt. The Collector of Customs at Wellington (Mr. Carkeck) has been directed to inform >on the probable pciiod when the Mountain Maid may ha ox> peeled nt New Plymouth.
