WELLINGTON.
Election of Supkrintcndgnt for the Puovincr ok \VnLU\aroN.— Our readers will observe in another part of our paper an advertisement announcing the piescntation of a requisition to Dr. Featherston to allow himself to be nominated at (he approaching election, as a candidate for the office of Superintendent for this province, the requisition, to which there are upwards of 500 signatures attached, will be presented to Dr. Feathersion at Barren's Hutcl, on Monday next, the I8(h mst, nt 12 o'clock, and we have no doubt tlut a grea: number of the requisilionisis will be present on the ocoasion. We have juit heard that a requisition is being handed about for signature, calling upon Mr, Dillon Bell to allow himself to be nominated for the office of Superintendent; but we can hardly conceive such to be the fact, as we are unaware what claims that gentleman can have upon the eleci.ors of this Province to entitle him to be elected to such an important post. Should such, however, prove to be the case, we can only say to our fellow colonists—- " Rush then to ihe poll, and record your plumpers for Dr. Featherston, the true and tried advocate of your rights and privileges. "—From the Wc'lington Independent, April 16.
