The Town of Nelson. 16. The Waimea District. 17. The Motueka and Massacre Bay Districts. 18. The Wairau District. 19. The Town of Christchurch. 20. The Christchurch Country District. 21. The Town of Lyttelton. 22. The Akaroa Disttict. 23. The Town of Dunedin. 24. The Dunedin Country District. The Provincial Council of the said Province shall consist of Nine Members. - Number of Electoral Districts. The Province of New Plymouth, for tbe purposes of the election of the Superintendent and tbe Memberi of the Provincial Council thereof,

shall be divided into Three Electoral District!* and shall be as follows, viz. :— 1. The Town of New Plymouth. 2. Tbe Grey and Bell Diildcts. 3. The Omata District. The boundaries of the said district! being par* ticularly set forth and deiorlbcd in the schedule, and delineated on the map or pUns hereunto an* nexed. The number of mombers to be elected to serve in the Provincial Council for the said several dit» tricts in the Province of New Plymouth shall be as follows :— 1. Qualification of Voters* Pursuant to the provisions of the above rcolted act, every man of the ago of 21 years and upwards, boving a freehold estate in jwssesilon, situate within the dlitriot for which the voto is to be given, of Ihe clear value of £50 abovo^all charges and incumbrances, and of and to which he has been seized or entitled, either at law or in equity for at least six calendar months next before th« last registration of eleotors— or having a leasehold estate so situate and ol such value as aforesaid, of which he bas been in possession for three years or upwards next before such registration— or heing a householder within such dUriot, ocoupyiug a tenement within tho limits of tho town, of tbo clear annual value of £10— or without the limits of a town, of a clear annual value of ,£6 having resided therein six calendar months neit before «uch registration as aforesaid, shall, if duly registered, be entitled to vote at tbe Election of a Superintendent of a Province, or of a Member or Membots of the Provincial Council thereof, or of a Member or Members of the House of Reprcientalive*, Pro* vided that he is not an alien, and that he has not at any tiinehetetufore been attainted or" convicted of ary treason, felony, or any infamous offence within any part of her Majesty* Domlnioni.unleta he shall have received v free pardon, or shall have undergone ilia sentence or punishment to which he shall have been adjudged for such offence.

No perion shall be quulifi.d to yote at the election of any Superintendent of a Province, or of any member of the House of Representatives, or of tho Members of the Provincial Council of any of Ihe Provinces as af»res«id, unless be shall prefer • claim to Ihe ri^ht of voting, and unless luch claim lie duly enrolled as bereaflcr prescribed. Form, &c. of Claim, Every such Calm shall bs in writing, and shall stae the name of tlia district or districts in respect of whUh i- shall bo made, and iball be signed by the claimant, or by some other person in his name and by hit authority, and (.hull state also the place of abode, and cillitiß or business of the claimant, and the qualification in respect of which such claim may be made. When to be preferred. Every person claiming a right to vote for the election of the Members of tho House of Representatives—of the Superintendent— or of the Members of the Provincial Council in the Province of Nkw Plymouth 1. Tho Town of New Plymouth, 2. The Grey and Bell Districts, 3. The Omata District, shall deliver his claim, or cause the tame to be delivered, at tho Police Office, New Plymouth. List of Claims to be prepared. On the 15'ImIoj of May next, and on the 30th day of April in every succeeding year, or as soon after at conveniently may be, the Resident Magil* trate, or some other fit person or persons to bs appointed by the Governor in that behalf, at etch of the nbove named offices in the respective district! in tho islands of New Zealand and several Provinces as nforcinid, ihall respectively cause a list to be prepared uf the Claims which have been delivered at such respective offices as aforesaid, in pursuance of this proclamation, setting forth the Christian and Surname of every Claimant at full longth, together with his place of abode, calling, or busi* nest, and the ground on which his claim may bt made, and arranging the names in alphabetical order, and classing them for the several distiicts for which they may respectively claim to be entitled to vote.
