TE KOOTI IN THE WAIKATO DISTRICT.—INTERVIEW WITH MR MOON.
Te Kooti crossed the river, a little below Te Waotu, on the 13th instant, and proceeded to Arowhena, where he stayed a night, and then went on to Wharohena, where he passed two days, and was there seen by Mr Moon, of Maungntautari, who happened to be at that place, and who spent the night in tire same whare with him, and appears to have had a good deal of conversation with the fellow. It appears he is on his way to Tokangamutu, to throw himself on the protection of the so-called King, and is pretty confident of a favourable reception from all "the rebels there, except Rewi, of whose sentiments towards him he is somewhat in doubt. His tail consists of five men, three women, and four boys. . The men are all armed with Government Enfield rifles, and long knives, made from shears taken when they burnt the woolshed at Hurakino. Te Kooti is now at Horipapa.—Cambridge Correspondent Cross.
