VOLUNTEERING.
church parade to-day. A Church parade of the volunteers of the district will take place to-day, this being the day appointed by bis Excellency the Governor as a thanksgiving day for the recovery of the Prince of Wales fiom his late severe illness. We notice that the company honoured with the title of Royals has advertised for a good muster oti this occasion. COMPANY PARADES. The Thames Scottish Company, Capt. T. L. Murray, mustered at Messrs Fraser and Tinne’s new foundiy, Beach Road, Grahamstown, and were exercised in the various company evolutions. The Naval Brigade fell in at Finnimore’s old store, Albert-street. The company numbered about do rank and file, and were drilled in the marching and counter-marching movements by Lieut. Basely and Sergt.-Mnjor Grant. Tin’s company invariably muster well, n,nd appear to pay great attention to their drill, and at the present time they are second to none on the field for company drill, and there seems to be an esprit de corps existing between the officers and men, more apparent than in other companies. The Brigade can also boast of one of the best-trained drum and fife bands in the province, and we have no doubt the company wiU still contiir e to flourish under the command of their new officer, Captain Grant.
