Ferguson presiding over a large attendance. Two new members were elected. Miss C. Brown reported on the recent meeting of the Federation, to which slie had been a delegate. An Institute link letter from Ilfracombe, Knglami, was read, and it was decided to send a nox or butter Home, j A report on tho activities of the gardening circle was given by Mrs J. Rooney. A parcel of clothing for the relief depot and a' bundle of magazines for the maternity hospital were received. A compel iiiou for the best printed programme was won by Miss M. Fills, Miss Al. Brown being second and Mesdamcs Buyes and P. A. Campbell (equal! third. Airs Stewart (Timai'iil gave an interesting address on books, and a most instructive demonstration of making a quilt from wool was given by .Mrs H. Sewell (Waitohi). A hearty vote' of thanks was passed to both. The meeting closed with the singing of Cue National Anthem.
