PARKING OF CARS.

To the Editor. Sir, —I was very much amused when I read the notice inserted in your paper by the Acting-Town Clerk (Miss Meek), stating that those who parked their cars on certain streets of the borough on Boxing Day, would be prosecuted. Surely this must be one of the Council’s jokes! There are certain streets marked out as parking streets. Why not be fair, and compel people to park their cars on these parking streets? It must be remembered that people have now been wakened up to these jokiitg habits of the Council, and know full well that the Council would not chastise people for the offence which they themselves are guilty of. Thanking you in anticipation.—l am, etc., F. DOWNES'. Temuka, Dec. 30, 1929.
