TEMUKA BRANCH. Mrs Tilbrook presided over a good attendance at the annual meeting of the Temuka branch of the Women’s Christian Temperance Union. A hearty vote of thanks was passed to the Borough Council for their annual grant for the upkeep of the Rest Room, and to the Trustees of the Methodist Church for the use of the Sunday School Hall. Reports were given by officers and superintendents of all departments, and showed progress throughout the year. The election of officers for 1930 resulted as follows: —President. Mrs Blakemore; vice-presidents, Mesdames Tilbrook, Cooper, Blackmore, Gibb, Hewson, and Whitehead; secretary, Mrs Allanby: treasurer, Miss Greaves: Rest Room superintendent, Mrs Gibb, Cradle Roll superintendent, Mrs Blackmore: White Ribbon agent, Mrs Hewson. At the conclusion of the meeting, the retiring president, Mrs Tilbrook, was presented with a little gift as a token of goodwill and appreciation of her untiring services during her two years of office. Mrs Tilbrook returned thanks to the members for their gift, and also for their loyalty and help, and wished all the Compliments of the Season.
