WAIMATE ASSOCIATION’S. TOURNAMENT. CLEVERLEY DEFEATS CAMPBELL. (Special Correspondent.) The star bout between Cleverley and Campbell was certainly worth going far to see —and many of the audience did come from a -distance, some a great distance. The bout was decidedly willing, and though there were a good many clinches, it was for the most part open and clean. The evenness of the match may be judged from the fact that Cleverley was the winner by only half a point. The boxers were given a great ovation at the conclusion of the fight, ami the decision was well received. Alan Campbell (Oamaru) 12-7 v Alf. Cleverley (Wellington) 11-11.
