.’SCHOOL GARDEN COMPETITION
AROWHBNUA WELL UP
The judges (Messrs C. A. Schmidt, G. E. Knowles, and R. Stewart) have made their awards in the school garden competition for the Hurdley Shield. Points were .given for arrangement, preparation of soil and general treatment, neatness, flowers, vegetables, naming of plants, diary, and progress of work. The maximum number of points was 125, and the awards were: Fairlie . . . . . . 104 Pareora West . . 103 Ikawai 10 2 i Arowhenua .. .. 100 Otber schools which competed were; —Timaru Main, Hakatararaea, Hakalaramea Valley, Kimbell, Kakahu, Otaio, Skipton, Salisbury, Te Ngawai, Temuka, Waitohi Flat, Waikakahi, and Waihao Downs.
