During the week-end the Municipal Band, under Conductor R. G. Allen, gave two open-air performances at Temuka, the, music provided eliciting many expressions of pleasure from those who gathered to hear them. Ten new uniforms have recently been procured, and the old uniforms having been renovated, the Band looked very smart and trim.

On Sunday evening the Band gave a sacred concert in the Domain, before a large audience. The Band was again in full uniform, which gave it an excellent appearance. The programme opened with the march, “The Old Home Town,” which was followed by the selection, “Parsifal,” which the Band gave in fine style.
