OBITUARY.

ELIZAUETH KATE HEAP. | . There passed away at the age, ot S years at Christehurch, on the 4th. February, Mrs Elizabeth Kate leap, wife of Mr Leonard Heap,' ;ho is well-known in Temuka,- liavug lived here all his life up to the ul break of the. war. The late Mrs leap was born at Wickham "(Hants, Dngland), and married 'Mr''Heap \hen he, was on 't'he training*- staff A Sling' Camp, Salisbury, England, n 191$. her parents being Mr and Urs W.' Pearse of Bridge Street, Wickham. Mr and Mrs Heap, on heir arrival in New Zealand after he War, went to Christehurch, -vhere Mr Heap continued his dutie« >n the Defence staff at Christehurch md afterwards t'hey went to live at. Lyttelton, where he joined the Railway staff. Ahout seven weeks ago, Mrsi Heap took ill and was removed to the Chilistchurch Hospital, and the news of her death was received by tier many friends with the deepest regret. She" leaves a sorrowing husband, two sisters, Mrs Dawkins (England),'and Mrs Louden (Rangiora) and two little children, Betty, aged 9 years and Jack, aged four years-., to whom the heartfelt sympathy of a large circle of friends is extended. ;.. . :..... ...,. ~ • The interment took place on Tuesday, the corita-ge .leaving the St. ..Saviours Church, Lyttelton, .and thence 'to = .th ! e Church -of, .England cemetery, the -Rev. J. A, Pe.trie con ducting the funeral service. There was a big attendance of friends and relatives at the funeral, the chief mourners being Mr Heap, Mrs Heap (Temuka). Mrs Bateman (Temuka), Mrs A. Scott (Winchester), Mr W. J. Heap (Christehurch)' and Mrs Louden (Rangiora). Among the many beautiful wreaths and floral tributes were the ; following, from the'Saxon Tug-of-War' team,' Lyttelton : Railway Staff, Lyttelton tug-of-war team, Lyttelton Marine ■. Band, Lyttelton Salvation Army, from the Returned men, Reynolds and Mitre teams, Mrs Heap and Mr and Mrs Scott, Mr and Mrs Bateman, 'Mr and Mrs W. J. Heap, Mrs Louden and loved ones in!
