TEMUKA MUNICIPAL BAND.

COMMITTEE MEETING. A meeting of the committee of the above band' was held on Tuesday evening. Present: Mr G. B. Cartwright (Chairman), T. Gnull ion, W. Coombs, S. Cross am| the secretary, Mr G. H. Clements. Apol ogies were received from Messrs W. F. Evans and A. W. Buzan. The Geraldine Band advised that twenty players were coming to Temuka on Sunday, the 20th inst. to render -a sacred' concert at the Domain at 2.30 p.m. and at the theatre at 8.15 p.m., the Temuka band to arrange for vocal items, etc. The billeting of the visiting bandsmen is being attended to and a suggestion by several ladies that’light refreshments be provided was agreed to, the ladies having offered their services to attend to same. The offer of Mr H. Simon for the rights to. sell ice cream, soft drinks, etd, was accepted. .. ' The resignations of Messrs C. Hill and C. Teale were accepted and the vacancies filled by the appointment of Messrs T. Paiki and C. Double. Mr Allen, conductor advised the committee that the band would be ready to play out on Saturday, March sth. and it t was decided to take up a collection on that day, and that a shop he opened* the proceeds to go towmrds paying off the instruments. It was agreed to ask the lady supporters to meet the committee at the Council Chambers on Tues-* day, 22nd. February.
