A funny story is published of Mi Ed/ieon. The report was recently circulated that he had invented a wondrous shirt. It consisted of thin , pieces oif gelatine, each piece to he taken'off when soiled, and one shirt was guaranteed to last for a year. The story, after circulating in many v places, at last fount! its way to , Brazil, “The gullibility of the QL South American,’’ said Mr. Edison, in .a recent interview, “when it is known that soon after the story met their eyes the Brazilians began to send me drafts and cheques for ""shirte. An idiotic diamond dealer ■ sent me a draft for £IOO on the m Bank o.f England. >He wrote that fc. he didn’t know how much the shirts but he did not think they to cost over £IOO apiece'.’’ Monthly (Sale, monthly sale of stock at was well attended.
