OBITUARY.
MUS EMILY KEENAN
Another link with the old pioneering days in South Canterbury Was severed on Saturday, in the death of Mrs Emily Keenan, relict of the late Mr John Keenan, Temuka. The deceased lady enjoyed good health almost to the last, and paesed peacefully away at her residence, Wilkin Street, Temuka,. at the line old age of 79 years. She., wa s bom in London in 1847, and , at the age of ten years went with her parents to Samoa, coming to C.hristchurch, New Zealand, in early seventies. She married the late Mr John Keenan at Christchurch, they taking up their residence at Waitohi, where they resided for over forty years. They removed to Temuka prior to the outbreak of the Great War, and in August, 1915, she suffered a loss'v _ ; in the death of her husband, since J when she had- lived a retired and quiet life, being cared for in her old age by her grand-daughter, Mrs F. Keenan. Deceased is survived hy four children —Mr Arthur Dean, Kakahu, Mrs F. Lamb, Epworth, Temuka, Miss Emily Keenan, Christchurch, and Miss Kate Keenan, Temuka, and also fifteen grandchildren and three great-grand-children, to whom heartfelt sympathy is extended in their loss. The intermenjt takes place today at the Temuka Cemetery, the funeral leaving deceased's residence at 2 p.m. .-"■'
