IMPROVEMENT.
AT AROWHENIJA NATIVE SCHOOL. During the year many improvements have been made at the above school. Perhaps 'the most important of these, in the eyes of the older pupils at least, is the ne\y tennis court. Even duiring the short time that has elapsed since the court was laid down, the girls and boys have learnt at least the rudiments of tennis, while still finding time to amiuse themselves on the - new see-saw and swings which have recently been erected for their benefit. Besides these improvements, the School has been fortunate in receiving from Mr E. E. D. Clarke, of Melbourne, the gift of a fine new flagpole which improves in no small pleasure the appearance of the School. A flag, another tank, and an out-of-doors basin are also among the number of additions that have been made. Every improvement is well-merited for when a School keeps its gardens as well-tended and its grounds in as good order as does the above School, it deserves to have everything done possible for its advancement.
