PRESENTATIONS.
TO MR W. CARTWRIGHT. At the conclusion of the prizegiving yesterday at the Teinuka School, opportunity wias taken In vary the proceedings with a pleasing little ceremony which took the form of a couple of presentations to Mr W. Cartwright, first assistant in the Secondary Department, The headmaster (Mr ft. Malcolm) in happy vein, said that Mr Cartwright had decided to take unto himself a wife, and the teachers and pupils had resolved to mark the occasion ■ with something to show their appreciation of his worth. He then called on Miss N. Orton to present Mr Cartwright with a sot of afternoon tea cups and saucers, after which Mr Malcolm, on behalf of the teachers of the school, presented him with a bedroom clock, at the same time making some ’‘timely” remarks very appropriate to the occasion. In reply, Mr Cartwright,- in a feuwords, returned thanks and gave ail a cordial welcome to his home when he was settled down. Cheers were then given for the recipient and his prospective bride.
