BIBLE CLASS CAMP
The first camp of the newly-form-ed S.C. Bible Class Sub-Union was held at Easter on the property of Mr John Lyon. In all 36 Bible Class members were under canvas. On Friday morning a churcn parade was held, and Rev. W. A. Hay gave an address in camp in the evening. Saturday was visitors’ day and sports day. Following are the results of the sports: Swimming:—so yards: B. N. Grocott 1, H. Hay 2. 100 yards: N, Grocott 1, G. Berry 2. Diving: N. Grocott 1, G. Berry 2. Running—7s yards: L. Norton 1, J. Ball 2. 100 Yards: L. Norton It, C. Mayhews 2. 220 yards: LANortom 1, V. Preen 2. 440 Yards: R. Thompson 1, V., Preen 2. 880 Yards; N. •Hay 1, T. Aker 2. 440 Relay: Te■'muka 1, Woodlands St. A 2. Jumping—tflgh J'pmp: L. Norton, sft Sin, 1; V. Preen,. 2. Long jump: L. Norton 1, O. Hay 2. Hop, Step and Jump—L. Norton 1, R. Seivwright 2. On Saturday night a camp concert was held, and this proved to be a huge success, items coming freely from members. Sunday services were held as follows; —Morning, service in camp by Mr J. Stephens, afternoon service by Mr B. F. Hayman, evening service by Mr P. C. Roberts. On Monday a tug-o’-war was held, when again Temuka proved superior, defeating Woodland St. by Gin., making Temuka’s total for the Radj cliffe Shield 258 points. 1; WoodI lands St., 40 points, 2; Bank St., 27 points, 3; Oamaru, 15 points, 4. ' In the afternoon the camp was photographed, and after the usual votes of thanks and farewells wore exchanged, the camp broke up after having speut a very happy time.
