SERIOUS MOTOR ACCIDENT.
Ah accident which fortunately was unattended by serious consequences to the occupants of the car, occurred at Maslin’s corner on the Pleasant Valley Road, on Tuesday. Messrs A. Wordsworth, A. McLeod and Johnson were motoring in to Geraldine in Mr J. Wordsworth’s car, when in turning into Cox street, the car skidded and came into collision with a large wil low log on the'side of the road, sus laining serious damagq. The front wheel on the right side*of the car was smashed to hits, and the cap knocked off the rear. wheel, Thu front of the car was smashed in and the mud-guard crumpled up like an egg shell, the wind screen and steering Avheel also being shattered, and other damage done to the machine. 'Miraculously the three occupants, thoughly badly bruised and cut about, escaped A\ r ithout sustaining any bone fractures. Messrs WordsAvprth and Johnson Avere removed to the Braeside Hospital, hut Mr McLeod was able to go to h s home. The car was towed into Gtraldine on Wednesday urmung, tml was the centre of attraction to a large number of people all day.
