' GERALDINE'S CLUB ANNUAL MEETING.

The annhal meeting of the Geraldine Cricket Club Avas held on Friday in the rooms of Pyne, Gould, Guinness; when Dr. Hislop presided over a fair attendance of members. Apolo-gies-were received for the absence ot" Messrs F. Sercom.be, Kerr, and B. R. Macdonald.

Fiiom the annual report and balance'sheet, which were read by the secretary, Mr W. Williamson, it was shown that the Club's finances were in a satisfactory state. The season had been a successful and pleasant every way. Altogether II matches were played, of which ten were woii' and seven lost. In the South Canterbury competition, the team' won three and lost three matches. The Thursday team playod four outside matches, of which they won Utree. '• Several scratch matches were also played. During t'luTyear the Club liad suffered a loss in the departure tVom the district of Mr S. Iv. Ccallaglian, the captain,, who had. been the mainstay of cricket in Ge'raldihe for the past several years. On December 16th, iho team was successful in wresting the Bristol Cup from the Timaru Club, who had held the trophy since its inception. However, on June 3rd, the Ashburton Club came over, iiMd won'the Cup. , The Club expressed their indebtedness to the lady supporters, who had provided afternoon tea during the season. NEW MEMBERS.

Dr. Palerson, Messrs Fish and Satterthwaite were elected new members of the Club.'
