MEETING OF COMMITTEE

A meeting of the newly-formed sub-committee of the Temuka; and Geraldine R:S.A. Avas held in Geraldine last' Wednesday evening. Dr. G. Curtis was unanimously elected chairman, arid Mr- E. H. Heley wa's appointed hbn. secretary- ' The object of the committee is to renew interest in R.S.A. matters and to look after the' interests of returned, men in the district. ■ -.'.'.-■.■: '■••: ; A letter was read from the secre.-. tai-y at Temuka, advising that a .sum of money-''(£2o) was liOW ! available from' the Poppy Day Fund, to be. used in giving work to linemployecl returned soldiers in Geraldine and district. ■ ■".'; : ''■■"'•' »

It was moved by Mr: J'. C. McLeod,, seconded by Mr A. A. Paterson, and' carried iVnariimtfusly: "That a deputation' consisting of'the ' chairman, secretary, and Mr A. Read die wait on the 'Geraldine Domain Board to ascertain if ..that body was prepared 1 ;.o carry-out'a scheme to beautify the Domain and if so would they subsidise the ainouht£ for £."
