GERALDINE CLUB

The play-off for the senior men's winner of the putting and approaching competition resulted as follows: McKechnie 10, Sheldon 13.

The second round of the championship resulted as follows: Miss W. Farnie 1 v. Mrs A. A. Paterson 0, Mrs Kerr 1 v. Miss Hawke 0, G. Sherratt 1 v. McKechnie 0, Capt. Weaver 1 v. A. A. Paterson 0, C. G. C. Harper Iv. Macdonald 0. The Committee have extended the time limit for the match Readdie v. Paterson till Saturday, 2nd September. The draw for the semi-finals is as follows: Miss W. Farnie v. Mrs D. M. Paterson, Mrs Kerr a bye; Sherratt v. winner of Readdie v. Paterson, Weaver v. Harper. The. semifinals must be played by Saturday, 16th September. On Saturday, 2nd September, a Stroke Handicap will be played, for which the draw is as follows: Piper v. McLeod. Macdonald v. Sherratt, Williamson v. Kerr, Satterthwaite v. Readdie, Dr. Paterson v. A. A. Paterson, Sheldon v. Gimson, Harper v. Sutherland, McKechnie v. Curtis, Powell v. Madill, Stewart v. Weaver, Healey v. Dr. Hislop; Mrs D. M. Paterson v. Miss N. McDonald, Miss V. Scott v. Mrs Sherratt, Miss T. Williams v. Miss Templer, Miss Hislop v. Miss D. Farnie, Miss W. Farnie v. Mrs Kerr, Miss E. Sherratt v. Miss Logan, Mrs, Macdonald y. Miss R. Williams, Mrs Morris Williams v. Miss B. Sherratt, Miss Mcllroy v. Mrs Stanley. At a meeting of the Committee held on 29th August, it was decided to challenge Timaru and arrange a match if possible for the Bristol Golf Cup. The rules and regulations of the Club are being revised by the Committee, and will be submitted for confirmation at the general meeting of the Club in October.

Tleasure was expressed that, the Club's President, Mr B. R. Macdonald, who has-been seriously ill, is now on the road to, recovery. In view of the successful season this year and the fact that the Club have a big programme for September it was decided to extend closing.day to 7th October,. 1922.. TEMUKA CHAMPIONSHIP. The semi-final of the above was played yesterday between Messrs W. Hughes and J. T. Smart, and after a well contested game, Mr Smart won by 2 up and 1 to play. The lin-il will be played between the winner and Mr A. R. Guild, the winner of the other section.
