—— 36,000 HORSE POWER. ■ Replying to Mr W. J. Jenkins, at Wellington, the Hon. J. O. Coates said he doing everything in his power to push the Coleridge duplication scheme through. By the end of 302 2 another 4000 horse-power would be ready, by the end of 1925 another 10,000,-and by the end of 19 2 0 a further 10,000, which would give (he full total capacity of ;pj.ooo horse-power. The Minister of ) ,Public Works stated in the House oh Wednesday that the Coleridge electric supply is showing an excess of revenue oyer expenditure, but is not yet showing a profit if 2 per cent, for depreciation and 1 per cent, for sinking fund are allowed for; A large proportion of Banks Peninsula is now, enjoying the advantages of Coleridge electricity. The following places are connected up: Diamond ‘Harbour; Purau,' Cover-., nor’s Bay, 'Teddngton, Allandale, Motuka raru, ' Kaituna, Little River, and Pigeon Bay.
