■«» This is the title taken by Dr. Barnardo’s Homes for their, annual booklet, a copy of which we have just received from the Director, Rear-Admiral Sir Harry Stilen.aa. In his accompanying letter he points out that it is most important in the interests of the Nation and Empire that the children should be taught to love work for the work’s sake, for this will go a long way towards the solution of our industrial troubles. So far as (he Nation’s destitute children are concerned, he urges the necessity of training them on right lines, lifting them out of the slums and giving them ,a good environment and a happy childhood, so-that they may take their places as healthy, upright. honourable and God-fearing citizens. Baruardo's deal with 2G,000 young people ..every year, and every . year thev permanently admit some 1400 children.
