—. A well-known settler of TJruti dfs trier,, Charles Thompson, lost his lif< through a horse falling on top oi him. A girl named Mary Elizabetl Dromgool, 14, the. daughter of a farmer, was drowned in the Waitak; River, while bathing. A lad of eighteen named Rohen Forsyth, who competed in. cycling races at the Waimate and Oamaru sports, was cycling io his home at Morven after the latter fixture when he collided with a taxi, and had both his legs broken, and received injuries to his head. fie was taken to the Oamaru Hospital. A man named Miles, employed as a ploughman on Mr Walter Toluol's farm near Pleasant Point, lost his life on Tuesday morning by falling off and being run over by a roller. No one witnessed the accident. Alfred Warren, able seaman, was drowned on Thursday night by falling from the gangway of the steamer, H.uia, at Onehunga.
