C. - M atson wrote : .1. ha v e much pleasure in forwarding to you a silver cup for open competition' at the Spring Show of the above bocicty, to be competed for in the narcissi and- daffodil classes, for six varieties daffodils and narcissi, two , of each variety ; to bo won three times before becoming the property ■of, the winner. The winner each year to have his or her name inscribed thereon. All blooms must be grown bv exhibitor. 1 trust this cup may be the means of increasing interest in the Society, and help in bringing in .more exhibitors.” I'The cup, a beausiful silver one, ~/n - t n ebony stand, was accepted on rthe conditions mensioned, and on the ■ami l ion of Messrs A. W. Buzaa and p. Daily, a vote of thanks was directed to bo entered in the minutes for the generous gift. It was decided, on the motion of ■■■Messrs F. Daily and A. W. lluzan, that the winner hold the cup each year, and to be returned on the Ist September. .The dale of the Spring Show was ■fixed for the 201 h September, on the motion of Air A. G. M'atson. The schedule was then considered. Special provision was ’made for the cup competition. The collection of daffodils , ot; narcissi was altered from ffd to blooms.
