OKIiALDJKE ANNIVERSARY
Tim Salvation Army, Geraldine, had a glorious time on Sunday, when the Sstli anniversary services wore celebrated. Ttie services were conducted by StalF-Captain Gunn, who, in the morning, spoke on the words of Paul (Phil, iii., Li!) : “Forgetting those things which arc behind and reaching forth unto those, things which are before.” At night the Staff-Captain gave another powerful address, and was assisted in his conduct of the service by linvoy llopwood, of Ashburton. The Tiinaru Hand, under Handmaster Hawkey, arrived at 10 a.me by motor, and their selections throughout the day were beautiful. The afternoon service was made up mainly of sacred musical items, when the Hand delighted ihe audience with their musical ability and soalful rendering of the various items.
On Monday evening the hall was packed with what might be termed a f ‘reeor(l_ house.’' The programme was contributed by the Tenmka Salvation Army Corps, which was responsible for many delightful and -much appreciated items, ('apt. Calcott presided, and KnVoy Tilbrook and his two,rant spirit helped considerably the happy progress of events. Practically nil the items were encored. A coffee supper was much appreciated. The Heraldine Corps will benefit to the extent of £lO 10s from the anniversary. and Capl. Podmore desires H> return his hearty thanks to all who assisted in making the mootings a success.
