ONE DRINK AT A TIME.

Tha article Ave recently .published, says a London paper, about a well-known London public-house called "Dirty Dick's," where it was the rule that only one drink could be served to customers at a single visit, brings to mind another licensed house in the City -where not only is a similar rule enforced, but where smoking is strictly prohibited. The proprietors of this licensed house, which is in Artillery Lane, Bishopsgato, frankly state that they leserve to themselves tho right to conduct heir business upon any system that may deem expedient, and they cannot permit their rules to bo broken on any aco.ounl with impunity. Furthermore, they "respectfully request all persons objecting to the regulations, and who are not willing to act in strict coniformity therewith, to kindly transfer their patronage to some other establishment."

For upwards of sixty years they have adopted, among others, tho following three rules: —

"No person or party oF persons can bo served, under any circumstances, more than once, tho rule being that he, or she, or they (as tho case may be) must have left the houso at least half an, hour beware either arc entitled to be served again.

"'The quantity served upon any occasion, for consumption on the premises, not to exceed one gill of winls, half a gill of spirits, or one glass of malt liquor, for each person.

"Smoking strictly prohibited at all times and under all circumstances."
