FOLEY ELECTRIC PICTURES
There should be a crowded house at the Drill Hall, Ten:uka, to-night, and at ■LicraJdine to-morrow night to sets the current programme of pictures. The school members of the Navy League (Temuku, Centre) will be j!:r Foley's guests, :and a' splendid picture ol H.M.S. "New; Zealand" which will be screened should be some satisfaction to those who were unable to get on board the battleship in Timaru. In eluded in .the programme is «i' flue Sclig Drama entitled "The Pirate's Daughter" in which Dirigo plans a last voyage, upon which he takes his daughter. She learns his mode of life and berates him for exposing her to indignities. Some time after, Dirigo and his mdn are seen by the 'Coastguards and in a fight that ensues the pirate is killed. The, three remaining guards row to the ship and two are killed at the discretion of Almita. The third guard rows away but the pirates upset a lamp and the ship tires. • Setting a woman on board, the guard rows back, but the ruffians seize the guard's boat and he is compelled to' swim to her aid. He succeeds in.Hjri" ing her ashore and the next day having buried her father, she takes the treasur* to the Padre of the near-by hission, and as he has saved her life, frhe gives it and her love to the brave man who has made her an orphan in \ tho performance of his duty. The programme is a good one throughout, and Mr Foley will doubtloss be rewarded with a large attendance.
