MILFORD.
CONCERT AND DANCE. On Friday evening a concert and dance were held in the Milford schoolroom in aid of the school prize funds, ami were successful beyond the hopes of the most sanguine well-wishers of the school. Visitors were present from all parts of the district, and spent a most enjoyable evening. At the Concert applause was liberal and encores aware in the most pleasant manner fmjpeat, and the performer*} were made aware in the most pleasant manner that their efforts were fully appreciated. Jhe following is the programme , Overture, Misses and Masters Maoaulay , song, Canadian National Anthem,” children; song, "Sister Mary,’ Mr Salmon (encored) ; duet, "Ora Pro Nobis, Misses M. and 11. Brown; song, "Go to Sea,” Mr W. Pcarsb (encore "Harrigan”) ; recitation, "The .Story of Middicrib," Mr A. D. Aitken (encore "The Handy Fifth”).; Bonn "Down the A'uie,” Miss B. ’OartTwright ; song, "Now Zealand National Anthem,” children; song, “Only Last Year," Hr Gurtis (encore, "A Bowl of Boses’’) i, sword dance, Master M. Macaulay ; overture. Misses and Mas* ters Macaulay ; recitation, "Grandpa’s Wig, Miss O’Keefe; songi "Three Beggars,” Mr W. Bourse ; recitation, “The Frenchman,” Mr Bell; song, "Amateur Actors,’’ Mr Salmon (encored) ; part song, "Hoar 'the Echoes,” and diuiftribell display, Misses Bain ; song, Mr Clements ; recitation, "The Liverwing Testimonial,” Mr A. D. Aitken (encore, “Stories”) ; recitation, "Thu Cat’s Concert,” Miss Kita Cartwright. Mr Mi Ice gave some, good gramaphomt selections. The items by the children wore very pleasing, and gave ample evidence of careful training. At the conclusion of the concert) the room, was cleared and a dance held. This was largely attended. Excellent music was provided by Messrs Horgan and Roddick-, and gave every satisfaction, and Messrs W. Pbiip (Temuka), and P. Collins (Milford) performed the duties of M.C. in a capable manner. Pye, Biggs, Grayson, and others, to whom special thanks are due, for they provided in a most liberal manner.
