A FOXTON TRAGEDY.

A terrible tragedy occurred at Foxton about 1 o'clock this morning. A deaf and dumb boy. son of Mr Thomas Nye, aged about l‘J years, shot Ids father dead. The boy occupied an upstairs room, and was heard coming down stairs. He met bis father, who was aroused by the hoy walking about In the dining-room, at the foot of (he stairs. The boy had in his possession a gun belonging to bis father. and bo immediately bred, shooting -Mv Nye through the neck. Mrs Nye was aroused and called to In r husband. Receiving no reply, she called lo (wo other children, who occupied an upstairs room, telling them to lice. She (hen rushed from the house for safety. The boy to intercept hoc, but she escaped bom him. Tho boy then left the house. The police were communicated vAlh and traced the boy on to the \Mdrokino road, leadin' 1 ’ to Levin. Atcused was subso-pieatly arrested by Constable Ranrio at l/ovin.
