* GIFT AUCTION AND DISTRIBUTION". OF SUNDAY SCHOOL PRIZES. The annual gift auction and distribution of prizes were held in the Sunday schooi room at Winchester on Thursday night. Sunday school, was also on the plat form. The chairman in his speech congratulated the school on the largo number of pupils and on their excellent attendance. He spoke of the retirement of two of "the tmchers, Misses Opi.j and Nellie Philp, and he wished them happiness in theii' new sphere of life. 31 r Adcock urged upon the children the desirability of noiiuirimr .rood habits.
-Mr W. Stewart urged upon those who took up voluntary duties that they should regard thorn as sacrod. He spoke of the necessity of moro male teachers Iwing secured in the Sunday school, lie congratulated the- children on their fine average attendance, and also spoke of the difficulties of a. minister's 'life, saying that the people should do all in their power to help the clergyman in his work. He asked them to exercise a pious faith and they should strive to see that their religion was not interfered with. Mr Stewart concluded by expressing a hope that the year to come would bo full of blessings to all. -Mr Adcock then distributed thu pri/ts. Following is the prize list : Grade Yll.
