BOWLING.
GERALDINE CLUB. An adjourned meeting of those interested in bowling was held in the Borough Council office on Thursday night when there was a good attendance, and Mr F. It. Flatman presided. The sub-committee appointed to go into the matter of a private section for the green, reported that, after looking at several sites, they concluded there was nothing in the town to beat the site first thought of in the domain.
After discussing tho report, it was unanimously resolved that the domain site be chosen as the one for the bowline ereen. It was also decided that a sub-com-mittee wait on the Domain Board at its next meeting to make • the best possible arrangements for a permanent tenure, if one is obtainable. Tho secretary was instructed to write to Mr Jas. Turner, thanking him for his kind ofier of the section which is part of the land at present leased by him from tho Board. A letter was read from Messrs Briscoe and Co., Duivedin, offering to indent bowls for the club, thereby saving about 20/- per cent. On the motion of Mr J. Kennedy, it was resolved that a Bowling Club be formed, to be called "The Goraldino Bowline Club." The following oilicers were elected : President, Mr F. R. Flatman ; vicepresident, Mr "\V. A. SherraU : secretary and troasurenj Mr W. Thomas : committee, Messrs Broadhead, Kennedy. Chisholm, and T. Shorratt, with ofUe-jrs ex officio.

The president, vice-president, and secretary were appointed a finance oomnviltce to go into the question of raining Iho necessary funds over and above the subscriptions for laying down the bowling green. Two estimates were received for laying down the bowling green, and that of Mr W. If. Collins. Chrislehurch, was accepted, on conditior that specifications asc satisfactory to the committee.
The secretary 'was instructed t<> write to Sydenham and Invereargill Bowling Clubs, asking what terms they have with • the Domain Boards in their towns with respect to the green on the domain.
It was resolved that the secretary open an account in the Bank of New Zealand, 'and the president and secretary were authorised to sign cheques.' The secretary was authorised to collect mem'bers' first year's subscriptions at once. Three members present offered to pay three years in advance each. Tim meeting terminated with a'vo'te of thanks to the town clerk and Dor-, ough Council for the use of the Council Chambers. TIMARU v. TEMUK A. On Thursday afternoon a mutch between the Tiniarii and Tennika Bowling Clubs was played on the Timaru green, and both teams had a very pleasant time. Mesdames Cow and Williamson provided aftvrnoon tea. 'At the close of the game, Mr M. While, president of the Tjmaru Club, thanked the Temuka players for their visit, and hoped they had enjoyed it.
