IMPERIAL POLITICS.
LONDON, June 15. The Government's decision to apply the closure on consideration of tlie Pensions Bill is attracting attention in political circles, since parliamentary tradition holds -that the closure shall not be applied to the Finance part.
Bill of which pensions are a part. The Times says that the woman's suffrage procession was a spectacle of beauty unparalleled among political processions, and that the speeches'were distinguished by a dignity and reserve, showing that there was a number o earnest hard-working women, some of considerable distinction, genuinely anxious for the suffrage ; but the diimeanour of the crowds of spectators; though respectful, was good-humour-ed, and evinced little real support to the movement, still less enthusiasm. The Daily News hopes that the procession will convince Mr Aaquith that there is an effective demand among women for the franchise, and says that the Liberals ought to grant the reform without which democracy is incomplete.
