I desire that this wealth sh a Il not be idle and unprofitable, and I
wish to get miners’ rights for the Maoris who own the laud where the minerals are. Then I want Government to help us to improve our laud so that wo may work it lor ourselves and advance money for that purpose. The money will bo repaid. I want the Government to make roads for the Maoris as they do for Europeans. The Maoris are willing to bear the burden of such works just as Europeans da. I want to get the right to fish in ourjdvers without the necessity of Trotting a license." Eua and his party will proceed by easy stages to Wellington.
