? —♦ . --A* Wo would give our readers a final reminder of tho •Temuka Caledonian Society's annual sports gathering in Victoria Park, on Thursday next, Boxing Day. A most attractive pro-« gramme of running, jumping, vaulting, cycling, dancing, musical and other events will be gone through, and tho prize list being on a liberal Sv-ale very largo entries havo been received* for the events for which entries have closed. A novelty in "tho form of a ladies' short bicycle race has been iutro- ' duced, and for thos post entries will be received. "A similar event proved very popular at Ploasarit Point. The Temuka Municipal Brass 'Band and the South Canterbury Pipe Band will be on tho ground, and add Ito the pleasure of those who attend tho sports. The grounds are in capital order, and the officials'of the Society may be depended upon to havo everything in the way of arrangements as perfect as they ought to be. The booths will be in capable hands, and the public caii depend upon being well served. The sports are timed to commence at 11 o'clock promptly, and .-as the programme is very long there should not'be a dull moment until the last event, ■which is expected to be reached about 5 o'clock. In the evening the annual ball will be held in the Drill Hall . Music will be supplied by Vaughan's -band, first Class refreshments will be provided, and the floor will be' carefully prepared, so lovers of dancing may expect to thoroughly enjoy Crowds, of'visitors are expected from all parts of the district.
