GERALDINE FARMERS’ YARDS. There was a very good attendance at the Geraldine Fanners’ \ ards and a satisfactory sale. The entry ot sheep was about 3000. Tat Lambs, 12 at 15/3, 51 at 15/3, and 70 nt 18/1 5 hit'owes, 117 at 13/3; fat wethers, 9 at 20/6 ?, TOS ewe lambs To/it) 12T wether lambs i 1/0 ; IT ewes ut 10/-, 4 do. at 12/9 ; TO empty ewes •10/2, hi lull-mouth ewes in lamb •14/(»re8 ewes in lamb 9/6, 75 store lambs 10/10. There was an entry of about 60 head of cattle, and 12 steers were sold at £3 17/6. THE HOME MARKET. LONDON, July 21. Frozen mutton. —North Island 3&d, best brands -i&d. Other sorts are unchanged. Lamb.—Canterbury, ngOt, old, medium heavy a./d; Southland scl, North Island dpi. new 'Zealand beef ia unchanged. River Plate sheep,' heavy, 3£d ; tight 3gd. New- Zealand hemp is hardening, and prices aro firm. At tho wool sales there is keener competition for crossbreds. The demand is more spirited for meL’inos, which are in sellers’ favour. Ihe average* prices realised by tke clips named were as follows ; Ben Ohau 9|d, Waiau Hid; Kapuonc 20d, Kuimatu 12 gd, Hiku 12d. The number of bales catalogued to date is .137,223,, 0f which 122,411 bales have been sold. Tho warm weather has slopped the demand, for rabbits; price's are nominally unchanged. At tbe rabbit-skin auction sales 2699 bales were ottered, and 2342 sold. Prices are steady ; best incoming grades arc sometimes a half-penny dearer. July 22. For all'classes of wool there is.kpcnor competition. Merinos arc very firm, and crossbreds arc burdening.
