A representative meeting, convened by (lie Mayor, was held to consider tin' schemes for housing Hr Hoekcns collection of early records, pictures, r'te., which he is prepared to donate to the city. Itwus resolved to appoint a committee to inquire into the nature of the collection nnd the kind of building necessary to suitably house it, the custody of the same and th ■ cost of keeping it in repair and ill. best site for tho building, and report to a future meeting. 'the editor of the Daily Times reported that in four dm-s he had secured .L’KioO for the building.
