JAMESON’S ENTERTAINERS

The Jameson entertainers had a very fair house at the Volunteer Hall, Geraldine ion Wednesday night, when they pat on a variety bill which more than delighted the large audience Mr Frank Hulme and Miss Jean John ston are very capable ballard singers and Mr George Bentley is remarkably clever with humorous descriptive songs, his efforts being encored more than once. The company have also an infant phenomenon in the person of little Vera Kearns, whose singing of the character songs - My Daddy’s a Gentleman ” and My Little Slate ” fairly brought down the house. The next on the programme is Mr Jack Kearns—an exceedingly fleshy comedian —who kept the audience in roars of laughter from the moment he came on the stage till he left it. Notwithstanding his great bulk Mr Kearns is a very active man and is able to turn back sommersaults as gracefully as an acrobat. The great event of the evening is the performance of Sherwin, the musical tramp, whose entertainment alone is well worth the price of admission. The company have still another attraction above the average in the shape of Alberto, who give an excellent drawing room entertainment with sleight of hand tricks, his manipulation of cards and coins being equal to anything we have seen in this line. Even when Alberto is explaining the trict to his audience it is almost impossible to detect where the coin comes from. The performance of Ida Roslyn, and Vera- Kearns in coon specialities and Ida Roslyn dn original sketches are also good, while the illustrated songs by Miss Jean Johnston are worthy of a place on any programme. On Wednesday night Miss sang “ When a little time has Flown and “ Killarney,” and • was vociferously encored for each. This exceptionally good bill was brought to a close with a number of fine animated pictures shown by a powerful biograph.
