MOUNT PEEL ROAD BOARD.

The monthly meeting of the above Board was held on Friday last, those present being Messrs Dennistoun,. Tripp, Thew and Tjliompson h ■. Before dealing, with the ordinary business the chairman referred to the death of the late Hon. W. Rollpston, and moved the following resolution The Board wishes to express its deep sorrow at the irreparable loss which New Zealand has sustained in the - death of, the Hon. W. Roflleston, and also its appreciation of his great public services and of his rectitute of life. The Board also wishes to express its respectful sympathy with Mrs RoliesTbe resolution was carried. Correspondence was read . and dealt‘with as under From Mr G, J. Hamil H.., asking the Board to extend the crate protection above t)ie Ribbonwood Creek ford, and to make repairs on the Meikleburn road.;— To be done when men are workipg in that locality. G alien, asking the Board to expend his .accrued “ thjirdis ” in erecting a foot bjridgv over the Opihi at Tendro’s roclq— Clerk to reply that mere were no funds available for the work. ; The Clerk was instructed to the Commissioner of Crown Lands with regard to the survey of the ’ road extension to site of the stockbrid&e to sections 36092—4. Accounts amounting to £7'B 3s Id were passed for payment. The Board then rose.
