PUBLIC INSTALLATION OP OFFICERS. The Alexandrovna Lodge, Temuka, held a special summoned meeting in the lodge-room, Oddfellows’ Hall, on Tuesday evening, there being a full attendance of members, and several visiting brothers from the Victoria Lodge, Geraldine. The public were admitted at 8 p.m., there being a very large attendance of ladies present. The District-Deputy, Bro, W. C. Roulston and his officersi Past Grands Brothers Fronting, Bennett, llancox, and Moore, installed into their respective chairs in a most impressive manner the following officers Noble Grand, Bro. J. Freddy; Vice Grand, Bro. H. Colville ; secretary, Bro. A, E. Smith ; treasurer, Bro. P. Coira. The appointment of other officers was held over, and the lodge adjourned at 9 p.m. The hall was cleared for dancing, and at 11 p.m. choice refreshments were provided by the members’ wives. . Dancing was then resumed, and continued , until 1 a.m., first-class music being supplied by Professor Kearsley and several others. Past Grands Bro. C. Pye (Milford) and Bro. F. Fronting (Geraldine) addressed the meeting, pointing out the great benefits and good fellowship in connection with the order. Mr Hintz (Geraldine) and Mr James (Timaru) contributed songs during the evening. A very hearty vote of thanks was passed to the,ladies who had done so much to make both socials so successful. An apology was received fro,m the secretary of the Star of Canterbury Lodge, Timaru, saying unfortunately they would not be present at the meeting, but'wishing all a very pleasant time.
