Racing Conference.
Af the Racing Conference at Wellington, a petition was received from a large number of horse-trainers asking for better concessions for travelling on th, - .; Government linos. Tho potitioiura asked that instead of the present rate=, they should be charged half fares each way when travelling to race meetings.
Consideration of dates and totalisator permits were submitted by clubs for meetings during tho forthcoming season. The committee to report thereon are— Messrs Allison, Friedlandor, McVay, Miller, and Nolan. The Auckland ilaciug Club asked that the gelding allowance be increased from 21bs to 51hs. A committee was appointed to deal with tho matter.
A proposal that no club deduct 5 per cent, from the stakes was negatived.
An addition to rule 51, Clause 1, moved by the chairman providing that the namo proposed for any horse must be registered with the secretary of a racing club, was carried without discussion.
It was agreed to add to rule 59a that no assumed name shall bo registered for any partnership or association of owners. A large number of proposals wero negatived.
