H. N. Firth, mining registrar, Queenstown, pleaded guilty on Monday to misappropriating £097, principally rents on nining claims. He was remanded to the oupreme Court at Dunedin, whore sentence -will be passed on Friday. A Wellington telegram says the four stud horses selected in England for the New Zealand Government by MrGilruth arrived by the Gothic in charge of Mr Douglas, veterinary surgeon. The animals were landed in splendid condition. Thoy are Danger Signal, a ten year old Shire stallion selected as as a present from Rothschild's famous stud ; a two-year old Shire colt Hertfordshire Boy ; and Singlestick 11., a four-year-old chestnut sire, and an Arab stallion acquired from Sir Wilfred Blunt in Surrey. Danger Signal goes to the South Island. the death of Elizabeth Moore the post mortem showed that death was duo to hemorrhage caused by cancer. The woman had been living for years with a man who earned wages amounting to ii2 2s per week, but the house was in a lilty and disgraceful condition. The man asked if the jury could not add a state of the house where deceased had livt-r?. The Coroner thought that the best course would be to request the police to call the attention of the health authorities to it. " I have used Chamberlain's Colic Cholera and Diarrhoea Kemedy, and find it to be a great medicine," says Mr E. S. Phipps, of Poteau, Ark.
